In his remarks, the Ambassador welcomed all personnel aboard KRI BWJ-320, stating that the ship’s arrival was a matter of national pride and a testament to the modernization of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) defense equipment, as well as the government’s commitment to building Indonesia into a strong and sovereign maritime nation capable of safeguarding its territorial waters. He also expressed hope for future joint exercises between the Indonesian Navy and the Royal Saudi Navy, particularly in the strategically vital Red Sea.
Following the welcoming ceremony, the Indonesian students took part in a guided tour of the vessel, organized by the Indonesian Defense Attaché Office in Riyadh as part of a training program for the Indonesian Student Association (PPI). The program aims to instill national pride and love for the homeland through direct exposure to the Indonesian Navy’s advanced naval platforms. Eighty students and accompanying teachers joined the tour with great enthusiasm.
As previously reported, KRI Brawijaya-320 departed from the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy after being officially commissioned into the Indonesian Navy under the Escort Unit of the Indonesian Naval Fleet Command II.

During its voyage home, KRI BWJ-320 conducted a Passing Exercise (Passex) with KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda-367 in the Mediterranean Sea. Its presence in Jeddah underscores the Indonesian Navy’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation, supporting regional stability, and promoting Indonesia’s positive image in global maritime affairs.
With the spirit of Jalesveva Jayamahe (In the Sea We Are Victorious), the crew of KRI Brawijaya-320 continues to serve as ambassadors of the nation at sea, carrying messages of friendship and cooperation to friendly nations.
